Welcome to the January edition of Moore Park Golf's newsletter. We hope that you enjoyed a happy Christmas and New Year with your family and friends.
We are pleased to report that the golf course and the driving range thrived during the holiday period despite the well needed rain between Christmas and New Year. As a result of this rain the golf course is in great condition and the green-keeping team is busy dealing with the speedy growth of the grass.
I mentioned in the December newsletter that we have been developing strategies to reduce slow play. During the Christmas to New Year period a number of these strategies were tested, some successful and others not so successful. Some of the strategies included: increased presence of course marshals and a communications procedure between marshals, 1st tee starter and the Pro Shop. I would still like to encourage your feedback on this issue via our email address info@mpgolf.com.au

We are pleased to invite you to breakfast at Moore Park Golf every Saturday and Sunday mornings from 6:30am commencing from Saturday 23 January 2010.
Breakfast will be served at the Patio Café overlooking the putting green. No bookings are necessary, however if you would like to bring more than four guests we would be happy to reserve a table.
Breakfast is freshly cooked to order for only $12 and includes:
- Bacon rashers
- Beef sausages
- Sautéed Mushrooms
- Roasted tomato
- Scrambled,fried or poached eggs
- Toast
- Baked Beans

Due to the delightful weather we are now enjoying, Moore Park Golf is happy to advise that the trading hours of the Patio Café and Bar will be extended during summer so that you after your round of golf or practice on the driving range you can enjoy a cold beverage and something to eat from the Patio Cafe as the sun sets over the greens.
Trading Hours:
Monday to Wednesday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
Thursday to Sunday 7:30 am to 7:00 pm
Level 1, 2 and 3 term classes are available for kids of all abilities from 7 years old. Term classes are $150 for six classes (only $25 per class):
- Level 1 Birdies term class - commences 7 February 2010
- Level 2 Eagles term class - commences 7 February 2010
- Level 3 Bears term class - commences 10 February 2010
Level 4 and 5 term classes are available for kids of all abilities from 7 years old. Term classes are from $195 for six classes:
- Level 4 Sharks term class - commences 10 February 2010
- Level 5 Tigers term class - commences 7 February 2010

Twilight golf in Sydney doesn?t mean a round in the dark, with daylight hours extending during summer as late as 8.30 pm twilight rounds are incredibly great value and are available after 4.00 pm.
Are you are morning person, beat the busiest part of the day by taking advantage of the 8 for $28 rounds available on Saturday and Sundays between 6:45am and 7:30am

The key to consistent putting is alignment. Most students that come to us for putting problems have their feet, and therefore their club face aiming incorrectly (usually to the right of target). This generally leads to deceleration of the club and causing many putts to be short and off line.
A simple remedy is to place a club along your feet and ensure that the putter is aiming slightly left of the hole on a straight putt.
