Meet Saketh – our Sydney Golf Academy Coordinator
Earlier this year, Moore Park Golf created a Team Member of the Month program. The aim was to motivate and inspire staff to ‘Shine Bright!’ and be the best versions of themselves when at work. So far, we’ve had four Moore Park Team Member of the Month awards handed out. Our most recent recipient has only been working with the Moore Park Golf team for approximately six weeks before taking out the award.
The Team Member of the month can be selected based on a number of reasons. For the month of July, when Saketh won, it was peer voted based on a 3-2-1 voting system. To have such an impact with your peers in such a short period of time is worth highlighting and we wanted to know more. We decided to sit down with Saketh to hear about his journey to becoming the Sydney Golf Academy Coordinator at Moore Park Golf.
Saketh grew up with his sports-loving family in the south of India. It was there that he developed a passion for all things sports. After spending four years studying a Mechanical Engineering degree in India, Saketh decided to follow his passion and focus on a career in sport which led him to Melbourne where he studied a Masters in Sports Management at Deakin. Since moving to Australia, he’s become a fan of Richmond in the AFL. It was also at Deakin where he became familiar with Clublinks – the management company that oversee Moore Park Golf.
After completing his Masters in Sports Administration, Saketh was ready to embrace the sporting world and made the move from Vic to Sydney to join the Moore Park Golf team as the Sydney Golf Academy Coordinator and aren’t we glad he did!
Whilst he isn’t an experienced golfer yet, we have no doubt that he’ll be excelling on the course in no time – especially considering he’s surrounded by such a fantastic team of PGA Pros at the Sydney Golf Academy (who you can meet here).
Saketh has had such a fantastic impact on the team since joining us in June and we’re thrilled to have him on board. We’re sure he’s destined for big things in the Sports Admin world and can’t wait to see what he does in the future but for now, we’re so glad to have him here at Moore Park Golf!
