The following Frequently Asked Questions cover many of the regular enquiries we receive about the Sydney Golf Academy:
Do my lessons take place on the driving range?
Yes, generally lessons will be conducted on the bottom level of the Driving Range in the dedicated Sydney Golf Academy zone. We also have a short game area where you can book a putting, chipping and pitching lesson. On course lessons are also available. Please specify the lesson you will require when making your booking.
I do not have any clubs, can I still book a lesson?
Yes, all clubs and balls are included during the lesson only. If you wish to warm up before your lesson, or practice after, you will need to purchase a bucket of balls and additional club hire is also available from the Golf Shop.
Can I share a golf lesson with a friend?
Yes, you can have a 30 minute or one hour lesson with a friend. Please refer to our full tuition price list for costs. You can also create your own beginners group where you need to have a minimum of four people. The maximum number would depend on the type of lessons you require. Please give us a call and we can provide you with a rate for you tuition.
Are there any dress regulations?
If your lesson is taking place on the Driving Range, there are no dress regulations. Golf shoes or runners with a grip are recommended. Please refer to the Dress Regulations section of our website for full dress regulations for the golf course.
What happens if it is raining on the day of my lesson or I need to cancel my lesson?
Driving Range lessons will still take place if it is raining, as the Driving Range is undercover. On course or short game lessons may need to be cancelled. We will contact you on the day if we need to cancel your golf lesson. 24 hours notice is required if you need to cancel your lesson. If you cancel within the 24-hour period a cancellation fee of $20 (per half-hour booked) will apply.
Can I come and practice on my own?
We recommend that you practice between your golf lessons. You can visit the Driving Range anytime from sunrise to 9.30 pm (Tuesday to Sunday). On Mondays the Driving Range opens at 10.00 am. Buckets of balls can be purchased from the Golf Shop and clubs can also be hired for a fee.
Can I purchase gift certificates?
Yes, we can arrange a gift certificate for golf lessons. You may purchase gift certificates over the telephone with a credit card or alternatively from the Golf Shop. All vouchers are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
